NFL star reignites sexism debate with live TV lap dance

The sexism in sports debate has been reignited after New England Patriots star Rob Gronkowski was asked to perform a lap dance on a female anchor in the US.

Gronkowski was being interviewed on Whitlock's House Party By The Bay when he was asked about his brief stint as a male stripper in college.

"They're all cheering for me and everything so I'm like 'I don’t know, this is getting crazy," the Patriots tight end said.

"But I was kind of influenced and the next thing you know I had my clothes off too.

"I made like $25 that day and it was for college so it was pretty legit."

Fox Sports' Julie Stewart-Binks then invited 'Gronk' to demonstrate on her.

"Well, I mean, if you had the chance to make some more money, using maybe me," she said.

"Wanna show us a little Magic Mike?"

Reluctant at first, Gronkowski accepted, straddling Stewart-Binks and grinding up and down her body on live television.

Social media immediately exploded with questions about what had happened.

The incident comes just months after Chris Gayle sparked outrage by propositioning Channel 10 reporter Mel McLaughlin:
