Has Diego Maradona had a facelift?

Social media was abuzz with rumours about Maradona potentially having had a facelift after an image of him looking very different was posted online by an Argentine news outlet.

The strange photo, apparently of the football legend embracing his 24-year-old girlfriend Rocio Oliva, seems to show Maradona looking very fresh and different.

The 54-year-old was reportedly enjoying a break with Oliva in Cuba, where the star is currently filming a new sports program.

Argentine media immediately highlighted that Maradona appeared wrinkle-free and with the bags under his eyes seemingly completely gone.

Of course, the reports amount to nothing more than rumours with surgery suggestions very much unconfirmed, but fans on social media were left astonished nonetheless.

One fan's comment on Twitter triggered many responses: "Diego Maradona has undergone a face-lift procedure."

Another popular post read: "The new face of Diego Maradona? You have done a facelift."

The Argentina hero, who is infamous for the 'Hand of God' goal against England at the 1986 World Cup which his country won, reportedly remains in an on-off relationship with Oliva.

The pair are understood to have broken up and reuninted several times since their relationship began early last year.

Maradona was caught up in a domestic controversy last year when video footage leaked to an Argentine TV station appeared to show him strike Oliva as she screamed for him to stop.
