Fourth Test, Aust v India, rolling coverage

It was an emotional day for Australia's cricketers and the cricket-loving public as the fourth Test got underway against India.

It is the first time the team has played at the SCG since the tragic death of Phillip Hughes, and Cricket Australia paid tribute to the NSW and SA batsman at his former home ground.

Australia dominated proceedings from the opening over with David Warner picking up a century and Chris Rogers falling agonisingly short on 95. The pair made their first double century opening stand.

Steve Smith's imperious form continued and Shane Watson got amongst it as well, picking up a much-needed half century.
