Football team moves training camp to escape Russian models

German football side MSV Duisburg have been forced to change their winter training camp location, all because of some Russian models.

The decision was made after the club found out that a 400-strong party of Russian models were booked in at the same hotel.

The third division outfit announced their new plans once they discovered that the Turkish resort of Antalya Lara would also be hosting a Russian beauty contest.

Duisburg confirmed that manager Michael Meier had rearranged the training camp because they want their preparations ahead of the second half of the season to be "calm".

A statement released on the club's official website reads:

"We want to calmly prepare for the second half of the season :)

"The hotel booked previously is not only filled with more or less beautiful people, it is obviously even overcrowded.

"MSV-team manager Michael Meier has therefore rescheduled."

It's not the first time that a team's hotel plans have had to be shifted in a bid to prevent players mingling with women.

As journalist Marcus Christenson pointed out, England manager Graham Taylor famously had to shift plans back in 1992 due to a nearby beach.
