A-League interested in Ronaldinho

Brazil football icon Ronaldinho's decision to leave club Atletico Mineiro has A-League fans in a wave of excitement for a possible move to Australia.

Player agent Lou Sticca, the man who assisted in Sydney FC's acquisition of Italy and Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero, said the former Barcelona and Milan attacking midfielder has been notified of Aussie interest.

"Some calls have already been made and now it's up to A-League clubs to make a play for him," Sticca told Fox Sports.

"Anything's possible and he's exactly the sort we should be bringing here."

The two-time FIFA World Player of the Year has caused international headlines with his exodus from Brazilian club Mineiro.

Sticca said A-League possessed an edge in the appealing Australian lifestyle.

"He's globally recognisable and an entertainer,"he said.

"It (Australia) would be a new frontier, he'd love lifestyle and the way fans would respect him."

Manchester City-owned Melbourne City FC could be a favourite for Ronaldinho's signature, having yet to sign a marquee player.

Sydney FC are also a possible candidate.
