Scottish cyclist proposes in front of packed crowd

Scottish cyclist Chris Pritchard didn’t fare too well on the track in Glasgow, but he received one of the loudest cheers of any athlete at the Games.

While he only made it to the seventh-place race in the male kierin, it was his work off the track that has him in the headlines.

At the conclusion of his race, the 31-year-old made his way into the crowd to where his girlfriend, Amanda Ball was sitting.

Still dressed from head to toe in his lycra racing suit, the home-grown hero got down on one knee and proposed in front of a packed crowd at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome.

Luckily for Pritchard, Ball said yes, much to the delight of those in attendance.

“I have been plotting this for about five or six months. It has taken a lot of hard work,” Pritchard said afterwards, according to the 'Daily Mail'.

Ball said her decision was “never in doubt”.

“I have been nagging for long enough,” she said. “The ring is just like the one I took a picture of and left on the computer screen!”
