Aussies to fight for two judo bronze

Two Australian judoka will fight for separate bronze medals in the same weight division after each winning a bout on the opening day of Commonwealth Games competition.

Chloe Rayner, 17, made it through to the semi-finals in the women's 48kg class with a quarter-final win, but then lost to India's Shushila Likmabam after being pinned.

She'll now fight in one bronze medal match in Glasgow's Scottish Entertainment and Conference Centre, while teammate Amy Meyer, 22, will contest the other.

After losing her opening bout, Meyer then took on Rayner's first opponent, Zambia's Abigail Chindele, in repechage and defeated her on points.

Rayner will face Cameroon's Marcelle Monabang in her bronze medal bout on Thursday night, while Meyer's chance for a medal will come against Onoh-Obasi Okey from Barbados.
