Two parents in the US have been arrested on child cruelty charges after their daughters were found to be grossly obese and living in squalor, the Daily Mail reports.
Police were alerted to a domestic dispute between two brothers occurring at a house, and arrived to find the home smelling of urine and reportedly 'infested with roaches, fleas, cobwebs and gigantic spiders'.
In an initial search, police were said to have found the youngest sister aged four lying on an uncovered mattress wearing only a soiled nappy and sucking from a baby's bottle.
The warrant described her spotted with insect bites, her feet unwashed and black with dirt. She is estimated to weigh 38 kilograms.
Her elder sister, aged five, is said to weigh 76 kilograms and was found with matted, lice-ridden hair and was so overweight she could not walk far without wheezing.
The weight of an average child at age five is approximately 20 kilograms.
The home was reportedly littered with 18 animals. Police removed five dogs, two cats, two turtles and nine birds from the premises.
The mother of the children, Ann Cordona, insists she has not committed any crimes telling CBS Atlanta 'I'm not guilty of anything'.
She was released on bail while her husband James Cordona remains in jail with a $5,700 bond.Megan Fox is pregnant The Hype
