A mother in the UK has told how her six-year-old daughter was physically and sexually abused by more than 20 of her classmates.

The Daily Mail reports the girl was stripped of clothes at a school in Wales and assaulted on a daily basis.

The girl's mother claims it took two years for school officials to fully investigate her claims.

A review has confirmed that the abuse occurred at the school, but said it was difficult to establish a detailed account of what took place.

The school involved in the investigation has remained nameless to protect the identity of the child at the centre of the abuse, meaning parents throughout Wales will be unsure if their children attend the school where the harmful behavior took place.

The 23 children involved in the abuse, aged six to 10, are too young to be prosecuted.
