ABC November 8, 2009, 12:02 pm

Polie say a man has been shot several times while sitting in a car in Sydney's south-west overnight.

Officers say the 37-year-old was sitting in the front passenger seat of the car about 1:00am (AEDT) at Bass Hill when a second car pulled up behind him.

Police allege two men got out of the second car.

They say one man got the driver of the first car out while the other fired shots at the passenger.

The 37-year-old suffered gun shot wounds to his upper and lower limbs and was taken to hospital in a stable condition.
