Two Brisbane parents have been committed to stand trial for the murder of two of their children last year.

The 29-year-old father and 31-year-old mother, who cannot be named, were this afternoon committed to stand trial on two counts of murder, torture and failure to provide the necessities of life following a hearing in the Brisbane Magistrates Court.

It comes after the bodies of their 18-month-old twins were found in their Sunnybank Hills home late last year.

The man remains free on bail while his partner has been remanded in custody.

Both will face trial in the Supreme Court in Brisbane on a date to be fixed.
