Two men are on trial in the Supreme Court in Perth accused of involvement in an international drug conspiracy.
Fabian Quaid and Dimitrios Papadimitriou are alleged to have conspired to traffic 45 kilograms of MDMA, the drug used to make ecstasy.
The court has been told the drug arrived in Fremantle in April last year onboard a cargo ship called the Monica. The drug was then transferred to a house in the Perth suburb of Lockridge, where police later found drug paraphernalia including a machine used to make tablets.
Prosecutors said the man in charge of the operation was in Serbia, while Mr Quaid who was living in Sydney and Mr Papadimitriou from Queensland were planning to distribute the drug in Australia. Both men have pleaded not guilty.
The trial is set down for six weeks.
