Birthday party raid at bikie clubhouse

AAP November 27, 2009, 7:54 am

An alleged bikie has been charged with liquor and other offences after a raid of a birthday party at a bikie club in Sydney's west discovered dozens of intoxicated underage drinkers, police say.

About 60 youths aged between 13 and 17 were at the 17th birthday party on September 18, many of who were "well intoxicated", according to police.

The police raided the party about 11.30pm (AEDT), and allegedly seized items, including a large amount of alcohol, cash, a cigarette vending machine and a poker machine.

On Thursday a 52-year-old man, who police will allege is a senior member of the Bandidos Outlaw Motorcycle Gang, was charged with several offences including supplying liquor to a minor on other premises, unlawfully placing a tobacco vending machine, and carrying tobacco products in a public place for retail sale.

He is to appear at Newtown Local Court on January 19, 2010.
