A young woman faces assault charges after allegedly glassing a man in a Brisbane bar early on Sunday.

Police charged the 19-year-old Windsor woman after she allegedly assaulted two people in the Fortitude Valley bar about 2am (AEST).

Police say the woman threw a glass at a 21-year-old Fortitude Valley man, bruising his face.

The woman then turned on a 20-year-old Brookfield woman, punching her several times, causing bruising, the police statement said.

The 19-year-old has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and also common assault. She will appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on November 24.
