Ramsay: I didn't call Tracy a lesbian

Gordon Ramsay has lashed out at television presenter Tracy Grimshaw, firing up over comments about his wife and saying it is just a grab for ratings.

Before an audience of several thousand people at the Melbourne Good Food and Wine Show at the weekend, it was claimed Ramsay had insulted Grimshaw with a 'lesbian pig' jibe.

"I'm completely mortified, it's been blown out of context," Ramsay told 7News in Melbourne today.

"It's obvious she's done it for ratings."

The notorious foul-mouthed chef said he never called Grimshaw a lesbian and he has the record to prove it.

"I've got all the tapes, I didn't mention the word 'lesbian' once," he said.

He also hit back Grimshaw's comments about his private life.

"My wife's arriving in two weeks," he said.

"To stoop that low and attack my wife is disgusting."

It was reported he showed a picture of a naked woman to an audience at the food show.

It was then claimed he said: "That's Tracy Grimshaw."

He apologised and said the joke was not at the expense of the current affairs host.

Grimshaw opened her ACA show last night with an editorial on Ramsay, claiming she was specifically asked not to question him on his extra-marital activities.

"Gordon Ramsay made me promise not to ask on Friday about his private life," she said.

"He then got on stage on Saturday and made some very clear and uninformed insinuations about mine.

"He says it's a joke, well not to me or anyone who cares about me."

Tracy Grimshaw needs to take what she dishes out. Stop sooking and get over it. Gordon Ramsay's attitude has been promoted by and defended by WIn for profit. They can't have it both ways.
