Woman charged over horror crash that killed mother and seven-year-old son

A woman has been charged over a crash that killed a mother and her son and also left his twin sister fighting for life.

Julie Bullock was on a standard morning school run with her seven-year-old twin son and daughter, Hudson and Sienna, when another car allegedly crossed onto the wrong side of the Hume Highway, just south of Sydney, and hit the family’s car head on in early March.

The other driver, a 49-year-old woman, was airlifted to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition and eventually stabilised.

The Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit have since charged the woman with two counts of dangerous driving occasioning death, dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm and negligent driving occasioning death..

Following the tragic crash, Ms Bullock’s heartbroken husband Darren told mourners of the despair he and Sienna were enduring at losing half of their family.

“Julie was a natural mother. She always put her kids first, me second and her last,” he told friends and family.

“All our lives were better for the love you brought to us. Hold each other tight and we’ll all cuddle again one day.”

The driver is due to front Picton Local Court on September 5.
