Man allegedly stabbed by homeless woman in Melbourne CBD

A man has been seriously injured after being allegedly being stabbed by a homeless woman in the Melbourne CBD.

A 29-year-old man suffered serious injuries after he was stabbed once in the stomach.

Witnesses said a fight broke out between the man and woman on Elizabeth Street near the Collins Street intersection.

It's claimed the scuffle broke out on near Betty's Burgers, where a crime scene has since been established.

Police arrested the 55-year-old homeless woman they believe to be responsible for the stabbing.

Her alleged victim was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital.

The tram stop in the area was closed as detectives carried out enquires.
