Dumped ring girl claims discrimination over bust size

An Adelaide woman cut from her role as a ring girl at last Friday's Anthony Mundine-Danny Green fight has complaimed she was discriminated against due to the size of her breasts.

Sev Philippou, 25, claims SA Tourism replaced her because “her boobs are too big and do not fit in the dress”.

Ms Philippou said she was delighted to be chosen for the Adelaide Oval boxing event, along with three other women, to enter the ring between rounds of the highly-anticipated bout.

It wasn’t until she made a phone call to confirm the details that her dream came to a sudden halt.

“I found out from a third party I had been dropped as a Ring Girl by SA TOURISM because, and I wish I was joking, ‘her boobs are too big and do not fit in the dress’,” Ms Philippou said venting on Facebook.

“There was no issue at the fitting at all… I am damn proud of my REAL boobs and I refuse to sit quietly and be told I do not fit into a ridiculous standard of what a girls body should look like.”

A spokesperson for SA Tourism said it was the promoter of the fight that had the “final say on all aspects of the event”, while Terry Lindblom of Vegas Promotions said her axing was political correctness “gone mad”.

The South Australian model said she was given six ringside tickets to the fight, and still went along to support her friend who was fighting on the undercard. that she and her “boobs will be there supporting my friend”.

“It’s discriminating against me because my boobs are real, and they didn’t say a word about it at the fitting. No one apologised, I was just ignored,” she told the Adelaide Advertiser.
