Man 'fired shotgun' into entrance of Sunshine Coast tavern
Police have released dramatic security vision which shows an armed person firing a shotgun into a door at a Queensland tavern.
The footage shows the offender approaching a Sunshine Coast business and peeking through the entrance.
He then takes a few steps backwards before raising the weapon and firing a shot.
The offender can then be seen using the gun to smash through the door.
Police allege the man gained access to Caloundra West business after firing a shotgun into the entrance at about 1.30am on Monday.
Once inside the man allegedly tried to break into an ATM but was not successful.
No one was inside Rawson Street business at the time.
Police have charged a man following investigations into a string of armed robberies in the Sunshine Coast District on Monday, which involved a firearm.
In a second incident the man allegedly held up a service station with a shotgun on Steve Irwin Way at Glenview at about 1.45am.
The man fled after an employee complied with his demands for money, police said.
At about 2am there was a third incident involving a shotgun.
Police said a man allegedly produced a firearm at a drive-thru window of a fast food outlet on the Bruce Highway and made threats towards the attendant to hand over cash.
A sum of cash was handed over to the man.
No one was injured during any of the incidents.
The 25-year-old did not apply for bail on Tuesday and will return to court on Friday.
