Man survives drive-by shooting on his birthday

An Adelaide man has narrowly escaped being killed on his birthday after a gunman opened fire on his Salisbury home.

The 26-year-old resident, who doesn’t want to be identified, told 7 News that he knows his attacker but refused to say why he was attacked.

He said he saw three men in a black Mitsubishi throw beer bottles at the house, before speeding off only to return moments later and driving onto his lawn.

A gunman then allegedly leaned out of the back of the car and fired a sawn off shotgun, with one round missing his head by mere centimetres.

“Scared the living daylights out of me, makes you feel very unsafe and very frightened,” the victim said.

While the victim refused to say he was targeted, it was his neighbours that were left terrified that the gunman might return.

“There is a lot of kids that live around here and a lot of families it’s definitely not something you want to have anywhere near them,” a neighour said.

“Scary, now you telling me I’m gunna stay inside, not coming out,” another added.
