Movieworld's Green Lantern ride becomes stuck after malfunction
A popular rollercoaster at Movie World on the Gold Coast has become stuck days after it passed a safety audit.
Footage emerged online on Sunday afternoon showing a cart of the Green Lantern rollercoaster at a standstill at the top of conveyor belt.
A Movie World spokeswoman said the attraction suffered "a short delay" and all guests were off the ride.
The same ride malfunctioned in March 2015 when a wheel component became loose and stranded 13 people, some for as long as three-and-a-half hours.
Firefighters were called to rescue riders during the March incident but a Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said the park had not called for their services on Sunday.
The incident occurred days after the theme park's 16 attractions passed a safety audit triggered by an accident at Dreamworld that claimed four lives when the Thunder River Rapids ride malfunctioned.
