'80 separate injuries': Balcony plunge victim's body 'folded over itself'

Balcony plunge victim Warriena Wright's body had so many injuries it almost "folded over itself" from her fall from Gable Tostee's 14th floor balcony, a jury has heard.

Tostee, 30, is on trial in the Brisbane Supreme Court after pleading not guilty to Ms Wright's murder in the early hours of August 8, 2014.

It is alleged Tostee restrained Ms Wright and locked her out on his balcony, intimidating her so greatly she felt the only way to escape from him was to climb over the railing to the unit below.

Pathologist Dianne Little told the court on Thursday Ms Wright had 80 separate injuries to her body and had "almost folded over itself" when she examined it two days later.

Warriena Wright suffered 80 separate injuries during her encounter with Mr Tostee, the Gold Coast court has heard.

Ms Wright's head was bent right over her torso and a part of her jeans was found in a skull fracture.

Dr Little said there was no physical evidence Ms Wright had been choked or strangled but agreed there was a small possibility such an act could occur without leaving a mark.

The court heard Ms Wright was 162cm tall and weighed 57kg, however it was hard to say what her true height was when she died because of the trauma.

"She had severe injuries really to the whole of her body," Dr Little said.

Fluid taken from Ms Wright's eye showed she had a blood alcohol level of 0.156 when she died.

A blood sample taken from her chest cavity, the only remaining place blood was available, returned a higher alcohol level but Dr Little said it was unreliable because it was likely to have been contaminated.

The court also heard Ms Wright had multiple "self-inflicted" scars on both wrists, right thigh and chest.

The pair met on dating app Tinder on August 1 while Ms Wright was in Australia for a two-week vacation to attend a friend's wedding.

In their initial chat, Tostee told Ms Wright "you look delicious. I want to do dirty things to you".

He also asked her whether she was a "freak in the sheets".

"Let's get drunk together, I'm a pornstar after a few drinks!" Tostee said.

This week the jury were shown CCTV footage that captured the pair meeting in person for the first time on the Thursday night and Ms Wright's final moments in public as she got into the lift at Tostee's apartment building.

The footage also shows Tostee leaving the building at 2.25am through the basement car park just minutes after Ms Wright fell to her death.

Phone records tendered in court reveal Tostee did not call triple zero but instead tried to contact criminal law firm Potts Lawyers as well as his father Gray Tostee.

Tostee and Ms Wright made a brief stop at a Gold Coast nightclub before returning to the apartment.

He also paced about the Gold Coast entertainment precinct and bought a pizza in the hour after Mr Wright's fall, the jury saw.

Once the evidence in Tostee's trial has concluded, prosecutor Glen Cash and defence barrister Saul Holt QC will give their closing submissions, followed by Justice John Byrne's directions to the jury.
