Blood spatters cover street after young man stabbed outside kebab shop

A bloodied footpath and smashed window are what's left after a 20-year-old was stabbed in Sydney's north-west.

The incident occurred when the man was standing with a group of five people on a footpath in Ermington on Saturday night near a kebab shop.

Two men and three women armed with weapons approached and allegedly attacked him at around 11pm, police say.

The group targeted the young man who was stabbed, it's believed.

He was taken to hospital with a laceration to his right leg.

His injuries are not life threatening.

Detectives would like to speak to the group of five who are of Asian appearance and in their early twenties.
