Urgent recall on Children's Panadol due to allergic reaction fears

Three batches of liquid Children's Panadol have been recalled amid fears the medicine could cause an allergic reaction.

An ingredient used in the manufacture of the medicines may have been contaminated with small particles which carry a low risk of allergic reaction, the Therapeutic Goods Administration says.

It has recalled three batches of Children's Panadol 5-12 years suspension medicines, including one orange and two strawberry-flavoured.

The expiry date for each of the products, which come in 200ml bottles, is February 2018.

BATCH NUMBERS OF RECALLED CHILDREN'S PANADOL:

136418 (strawberry flavour)

136444 (strawberry flavour)

136443 (orange flavour)

The batch number and expiry date are located at the bottom of the bottle label and embossed on the base of the outer box.

No other batches, bottle sizes or products are affected by this recall.
