'Girl in white' from Queensland Woolie's love quest indentified

The ‘girl in white’ who became central to a strange quest for love that captivated the nation this week after she was spotted in the fresh food section of a Queensland Woolies has been identified.

Her picture had been posted online by a friend of Brok Neilsen, 22, on Monday, declaring Mr Neilsen had spotted ‘the girl of his dreams’ and asking Woolies to bring the pair together.

Social media clicked into overdrive, a Facebook page was set up called ‘Hope for Brok’ and it wasn’t long until a little progress was made: a friend of the ‘girl in white’ came forward.

She sought a meeting with Mr Neilsen to size him up and make sure he was not “a creep”.

They met at Woolies Q Super Centre in Mermaid Waters, the scene of the ‘love at first sight’, and verified that they were speaking about the same long-haired brunette in white jeans.

But was a date arranged?

That part does not appear to have been established just yet, but the ever-optimistic Mr Neilson learned that the woman in his sights was “really shy” and perhaps holding off because “there’s a lot of attention about it at the moment”.

And he finally found out who she was: a 22-year-old bartender at Surfers Paradise called Selina Clarke, the Gold Coast Bulletin reported.

There could still be ‘Hope for Brok’.
