Man nearly plunges from Brisbane crane in bizarre stand-off
A man has been arrested after spending more than six hours on top of a crane at an inner Brisbane construction site.
Police have blocked off Carl Street in Woolloongabba and had been negotiating with the man since being alerted to the situation about 4.30am.

He had earlier been involved in a tense escape plot as he tried to scale down a cable and away from emergency services who had been sent up the crane to rescue him.

A police spokesman said the man's motive was still unclear and he was "not making a lot of sense".
