Mum shares disappointment after no one showed up to daughter's birthday

A Tennessee mum was left absolutely heartbroken when no one showed up to her daughter’s birthday party.

Taliyah turned 5 on Saturday and the family was expecting to welcome a house full of guests who had RSVP’d.

Instead none of the families showed up leaving the little girl incredibly upset.

As her daughter kept asking where her friends where, Lauren Sassmannshausen found it harder and harder to reassure her that they were on their way.

“I had several people RSVP and only a few came. Tallie was asking about every ten minutes where her friends were, and my response was ‘they are coming, baby’” Ms Sassmannshausen posted on Facebook.

“Time passed and none of her friends showed”.

Upset and desperate for her daughter to have a special day, Ms Sassmannshausen sent out a plea online asking for her community to help.

She invited all the local families that had children to come along and enjoy the party.

Fortunately her message was received and the family started to get a few knocks at the front door.

“ Never in my life would I have thought we would have so many people care about a child they didn’t know,” Sassmannshausen wrote in a follow-up post on her Facebook page.

“I want to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart and I want to express my gratitude to you all for coming out and making my baby girl’s birthday so very special.”
