Australia v India: Boxing Day Test, Day Two as it happened in Melbourne

Murali Vijay (55) and Cheteshwar Pujara (28) reached stumps on day two of the third Test at the MCG with India 1 for 108, still 422 runs behind Australia.

Australia captain Steve Smith led from the front on day two, belting a career-high 192 as Australia piled on 530 runs against a hapless Indian bowling attack.

He was ably aided by Brad Haddin (55), Mitchell Johnson (28) and Ryan Harris (74).

After his career-best batting effort, Harris picked up the early wicket of India opener Shikhar Dhawan (28) before Vijay and Pujara settled in for what looks like a long partnership.
