WA man cleared of Ebola: reports

A West Australian man placed in isolation has been cleared of Ebola, after presenting with symptoms consistent with the deadly virus.

The patient recently returned from a visit to Sierra Leone and was being tested at Sir Charles Gardiner Hospital after developing a high fever and diarrhoea, Seven News reports.

The state's Health Department have confirmed they tested for Ebola and other illnesses, and there was no contact with hospital staff or other patients.

Staff concluded the results were consistent with a different diagnosis.
