Qld policeman allegedly stole on duty

A Queensland police officer has been stood down from duty for allegedly stealing.

The 41-year-old male sergeant from the state's northern policing region was on Monday issued with a notice to appear before Ayr Magistrates Court on November 19.

He will face one count of stealing which allegedly happened while he was on duty.

The Queensland Police Service highlighted the allegations against the officer are yet to be substantiated.
