Ex-judge's daughter charged over drugs

The daughter of a retired Victorian Supreme Court judge has been charged with drug trafficking.

Kristina Hampel, 49, the daughter of the retired judge George Hampel, has been charged with four counts of trafficking cocaine.

Police say detectives arrested and charged her on Thursday after a long-standing investigation into drug trafficking, which resulted in a search warrant being executed at a South Yarra address.

Police allege investigators seized a quantity of drugs and cash.

Hampel, who is also the stepdaughter of County Court judge Felicity Hampel, was bailed by police to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates Court on November 6.
