Quade Cooper recalled by Wallabies for Test against the All Blacks

Quade Cooper has been recalled to the Wallabies squad for the Test against the All Blacks at Lang Park on October 18.

The Wallabies have named a 32-man squad that also includes four uncapped players.

Cooper missed a large chunk of the of the year after being sidelined following hip and shoulder surgery in May.

He has been working his way back to full fitness and played three recent matches for Brisbane City in the National Rugby Championship.

"This will be his first involvement in the squad environment this year, so we’ll look forward to assessing where he is up to when we assemble in Brisbane on Sunday," coach Ewen McKenzie said.

"You’re always searching for the right balance of experience and youth in a squad, so it’s pleasing to see Quade available once again."

Brumbies winger Henry Speight has been included in the squad and while he will train with the Wallabies next week he will not be included for selection while he continues his recovery from an injured hamstring.

Other uncapped players in the squad are tight-head prop Tetera Faulkner and centre Kyle Godwin of the Western Force, and Melbourne Rebels winger Tom English.

Brumbies back Matt Toomua drops out of the squad after he was concussed in the loss to Argentina in Mendoza on Sunday.

Force back-rower Ben McCalman is unavailable for the rest of the year following a shoulder injury he suffered against South Africa a fortnight ago.

Kurtley Beale was not considered for selection as he is due to front an Australian Rugby Union code of conduct tribunal.
