Tom Learoyd-Lahrs joins Melbourne Storm for 2015 NRL season

Tom Learoyd-Lahrs will join the Melbourne Storm for the 2015 NRL season.

Learoyd-Lahrs has played 119 games over nine NRL seasons and played under Storm coach Craig Bellamy in four State of Origins for New South Wales in 2009 and 2010.

"I'm extremely grateful for the opportunity Melbourne Storm have provided in enabling me to hopefully re-establish my NRL career," he said.

"It will be an honour to have the chance to play with such great players as Melbourne possesses, once I spoke to Craig, I knew that working under his guidance was the best opportunity for me to get back to playing regular week-to-week NRL."

The 28-year-old lined up for four Tests in 2010 but injury trouble and indifferent form for Canberra in recent years have curtailed his once promising career.

Storm football director Frank Ponissi said the club had no hesitation signing the former Bronco after a medical screening.

"Tom is an experienced forward whose skill and size will be a valuable asset to our forwards," Ponissi said.
