Qld oppn makes royal blunder in parly

Queensland's opposition has been left red-faced in parliament after confusing their crowns.

Labor MPs have been questioning the Liberal National Party government's contract to promote its Strong Choices campaign with PR company Crosby Textor.

The opposition has continually asked about the price of the contract, but the government says the figures will only be released when the work is complete.

Opposition MPs changed tactics on Wednesday and asked why the government was using the same PR company that was lobbying for James Packer's Crown Resorts to be granted a casino license in Brisbane.

But Deputy Premier Jeff Seeney told parliament Crosby Textor HAD actually been lobbying for NSW company Crown Developments, not Mr Packer's company.

"They are not related in any way shape or form to Crown Resorts," he told parliament.

"I think the opposition should step outside and ... apologise to Crown Developments Pty Ltd."

"The opposition should have enough ability to check basic facts before they use this place to cast slurs on people."
