NSW policeman denies assaulting teen

A police officer has pleaded not guilty to the assault of a teenager in Sydney's west earlier this year.

Senior Constable Chad Owen Halliday was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm after an investigation into the arrest of the teen at Emu Plains in the early hours of Saturday, March 3.

The 37-year-old officer did not appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Monday where his legal representative entered a not guilty plea on his behalf.

The matter will return to court in September.
