Man injured at base of Sydney high rise

A 36-year-old man is fighting for his life after he was found seriously injured near a high rise on Sydney's North Shore.

Emergency services were called to McMahon's Point on Friday morning after reports a man was lying injured on the ground close to a block of high-rise units in East Crescent Street.

The man has suffered head injuries and possible multiple fractures, an ambulance spokeswoman said.

He has been transported to Royal North Shore Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

Police were unable to speak with the man to determine how he came to be injured and a police investigation is now underway.
