Family hospitalised after house fire

Family hospitalised in house fire

A family has been taken to hospital suffering smoke inhalation, after a fire broke out in their family home on Lawrence Street at North Ipswich, in the early hours of this morning.

The four family members, and another tenant who was inside at the time, all escaped from the burning home.

Two dogs were also inside, but only one survived.

Fire crews worked for almost two hours to extinguish the blaze.

Witnesses say they heard explosions and the sound of glass shattering.

Everything inside the home was destroyed.

Emergency crews are investigating the cause of the blaze.

More to come.
