Driver smashes through shop front

The Logan City Cash Cow pawnbroker at Logan Central has had an unwelcome public holiday visitor.

Witnesses said a car drove across several lanes and a median strip before bursting through the front of the Station Road store just before 11 am.

Authorities said it's very fortunate it was quiet being a public holiday and that all the shops in the area were closed.

Steve Salisbury from the Woodridge Fire station, said, 'it could have been quite a horrific accident because this is normally a busy central part of Logan.'

Steve Salisbury said, 'the driver of the car is suffering a significant amount of shock and has been taken to the Logan Hospital for observation.'

Police say there was also a female passenger in the car as well.

The business could be closed for at least two days.

Investigations are continuing.
