Makers of Adelaide Monopoly board seek input from locals

South Australians could soon be building houses on Rundle Mall or Adelaide Oval as the makers of an Adelaide version of Monopoly ask for suggestions as to which landmarks will feature in the new board game.

Until May 31, people are being invited to share their suggestions with the makers as to which landmarks will make an appearance on the first Adelaide Monopoly board.

Adelaide’s Lord Mayor Stephen Yarwood helped launch the campaign this morning.

“It will be fantastic to have streets and features that we can readily identify with here in South Australia,” he said.

“Adelaide is a thriving hub for start-up businesses and entrepreneurs, as well as established businesses, so Monopoly is a very appropriate game for our great city to be associated with.”

The most popular two places will then be given the prestigious dark blue Mayfair and Park Lane positions on the original London Monopoly board.

And the Lord Mayor’s pick for the most expensive property on the board? None other than Adelaide Oval.

Winning Moves, the manufacturers of the official Adelaide version of Monopoly under license from Hasbro, says the game will be a shops for Christmas.
