Murder probe after Vic car death

Car death victim: Tony Dockerty

Police are investigating whether a man killed when he was hit by a car was deliberately targeted.

The Homicide Squad is investigating after the body of Tony Dockerty from Bundoora was found outside his classic car dealership business in Melbourne's Thornbury suburb just before 6pm (AEDT) on Monday.

Witnesses claim they saw the 63-year-old scuffle with another man shortly before the incident.

A 68-year-old from Balwyn North arrested after the discovery has been released pending further investigation.

Police confirmed on Tuesday that the two men knew each other.

"It's alleged the 63-year-old Bundoora man was struck by a white Volvo station wagon and investigators are keen to speak to anyone that may have witnessed the incident," a police spokeswoman said.
