Ron Burgundy's special message to Melbourne Cup racegoers

The world's most infamous anchorman Ron Burgundy has delivered a special message to race goers on Melbourne Cup Day.

Burgundy, played by Will Ferrell, laments that America is no longer stopped by a horse race and urges Australians to hold on to their traditions.

"Today Australia celebrates the Melbourne Cup - it's biggest horse race.

"It's such a big deal in fact that offices around the country stop to watch the race.

"America used to be like that, we had the Kentucky Derby, now kids just think that's a sexual position.

"So hold on to your traditions Australia, hold on tightly and never let go."
