Soldier crushed by helicopter at Holsworthy Army Barracks

An Australian soldier has been taken to hospital in a serious condition after he was crushed by a helicopter at Sydney's Holsworthy Army Base.

It's believed the 25-year-old man has suffered multiple pelvic fractures.

The accident happened about 11am this morning in the wash bay of the barracks.

A medical retrieval team travelled to hospital with him.

He remains in a stable condition.

An investigation is underway into the cause of the accident.
