Police search for man lost at sea
Water police are searching for a 39-year-old man after a fishing trawler overturned off the Gold Coast last night.
Two men were aboard the trawler when it rolled at about 2am, around 14 nautical miles east of Southport. The deckhand was washed overboard and is still missing.
The 54-year-old skipper from Parkwood climbed aboard an automatic-release life raft when the trawler sank and activated an EPIRB. He was rescued by the AGL Action Rescue Helicopter and taken to Robina Hospital suffering from minor lacerations and mild hypothermia.
The Australian Maritime Safety Authority is coordinating a further search for the deckhand.
