AAP October 26, 2009, 4:14 pm

A vehicle allegedly used as the getaway car in the fatal shooting of a man in Geelong on Saturday has been found.

Police said the silver Monaro was spotted in parkland on the Bellarine Highway at Leopold, just outside Geelong, on Monday morning, two days after Corio man Brock Nightingale was gunned down outside his home.

The car has been taken to a forensic laboratory for inspection.

Police confirmed another man, in his 30s, remains under police guard in Geelong Hospital after being shot in the back in a separate incident.

Detectives said on Sunday they were open minded about a motive for the killing, refusing to say whether the two shootings were linked or bikie-related.
