Police won't say if Vic shootings linked

Detectives investigating two shootings in the Victorian city of Geelong won't say whether the incidents are linked or bikie-related.

Police were called to a house on Cloverdale Drive in Corio about 5:30pm (AEDT) on Saturday after reports that a man had been shot.

Paramedics tried to revive the 26-year-old but he died at the scene.

Police seized a gun from the house and forensic investigators have worked through Sunday trying to piece together what happened.

A short time after the shooting a 30-year-old man went to the Geelong Hospital with what appeared to be two gunshot wounds to his hip.

The 30-year-old Newtown man underwent surgery late Saturday evening.

Police said on Sunday they were unsure if the wounds were from gunshots.

Detectives said on Sunday they were open minded about a motive for the killing.

They are also appealing for anyone who saw a silver Holden Commodore driving erratically in Cloverdale Drive on Saturday to contact Crime Stoppers.
