Four-year-old's rush to save mum trapped under road buggy

A four-year-old girl is being praised for her extraordinary composure that helped save her mother, who was trapped under an off road buggy.

Natalie Ritter and her daughter Georgia had been travelling across the family’s farm before the youngster hopped out.

Moments later Georgia saw her mum drive over an embankment, roll several times and become trapped under the buggy.

With her little dog Russell by her side, Georgia ran more than 700 metres for help.

“If it wasn't for that young girls action and quick response of emergency services, it could have been quite a tragic circumstance,” Taree Police inspector John Sullivan told 7 News.

“The information she supplied to the emergency service operator at the time was significant so that we could get the emergency response there as fast as we did.”

After hearing of the accident, Natalie’s husband Brett rushed home from Queensland on Wednesday night.

He’s now focused on his daughter’s emotional wellbeing and being by his wife’s side for her long road to recovery.

With her leg badly broken, and the muscle torn away, Natalie will need the kind of courage and determination her daughter has shown.
