Teen arrested after three police cars rammed

A wanted teenage car thief has been arrested in Queensland after allegedly ramming three police vehicles.

Officers spotted the black Jeep that was stolen from a home in Springfield Lakes on Australia Day on the Story Bridge around 11am on Thursday.

But when called to stop, the driver sped away.

It’s alleged the Jeep hit two police cars at Kangaroo Point before heading towards Goodna where it crashed into a third.

Police say the driver ran multiple red light intersections in Goodna before stopping the vehicle at Queen Street.

“It is alleged the man exited the vehicle, running into a nearby front yard where he was challenged by police and later arrested,” a police spokesperson said.

The female passenger remained seated in the vehicle and surrendered herself to police.

The 17-year-old driver’s alleged accomplice, a 15-year-old boy, was taken into custody on Wednesday after crashing a stolen Audi.

Investigations are continuing.
