Bodies of drowning victims retrieved from NT river

The bodies of two men and a woman have been recovered after they were killed in floodwaters south west of Darwin.

A troop carrier was swept off a flooded causeway into the Moyle River near Peppi-menarti.

Seventeen people managed to escape except the three victims who were trapped inside the car which became submerged in the river.

Police said they had recovered the bodies of a 61-year-old man and a 61-year-old woman and were working on retrieving the body of a 21-year-old man on Saturday afternoon.
