Former Lost Prophets singer jailed for attempted rape of baby 'tweeting' new music
The Twitter account of former Lost Prophets singer Ian Watkins, who was jailed for 35 years for grotesque sex crimes including the attempted rape of a baby, has come back to life.
The convicted pedophile’s account has been teasing new music.
Watkins’ official social media channels have been inactive since his arrest back in 2012.
The 39-year-old was later sentenced to prison after admitting a string of sex offences including the attempted rape of a baby.
But now a string of messages has appeared on the Lost Prophets singer’s Twitter feed, although it’s unclear whether Watkins himself is responsible or his account has been hacked.
The tweets include links to songs by an artist called L’Amour La Morgue, believed to be a DJ side project he was involved in before he was jailed.
Last year it was reported that Watkins had been moved from a Category A prison to a ‘soft’ jail for sex offenders.
He was originally locked up at HMP Wakefield, nicknamed the ‘Monster Mansion’ because of high profile inmates including April Jones’ killer Mark Bridger.
He was later moved to HMP Long Lartin in Worcestershire – alongside Soham child killer Ian Huntley.
The pedo-rocker has since been moved to a Category B prison, a decision that sparked outrage among child safety campaigners.
Watkins originally denied the charges against him, claiming jealous groupies had framed him, but changed his plea moments before the trial started and owned up to a total of 13 child sex offences.
He was handed a 29-year jail term, with a further six years on licence, at Cardiff Crown Court in December 2013.
Sentencing Watkins, the judge said: “Any decent person looking at and listening to the material here will experience shock, revulsion, anger and incredulity.
“What you three did plumbs new depths of depravity.”
