Man arrested over fatal one-punch attack outside Brisbane pub

A man has been arrested and charged over a one-punch attack that left a 48-year-old man dead in Brisbane.

Police took 38-year-old Wayne Hearn into custody on Tuesday night after days of appealing to the public for assistance.

It’s alleged he crossed paths with the victim, Timonthy Lang, on Saturday morning outside the Fox Hotel on Melbourne Street, before the older man was punched.

Police believe the pair knew each other.

The victim fell and hit his head and was rushed to Princess Alexandra Hospital.

He was placed on life support for two days before his family made the heartbreaking decision to turn off his life support.

Mr Hearn is due to face Brisbane Magistrate’s Court today.
